As a newborn photographer, there’s nothing more heartwarming than being asked by people you know personally to capture the most precious moments in their lives. Recently, I had the honour of photographing Alicia and Liam’s first baby. Nico is an absolute treasure and photographing him in his early days was a dream. Their session was a perfect example of why I love newborn lifestyle photography at home and being based in Chelmsford, Essex, it was perfect for me.
A newborn lifestyle session is all about capturing the natural, intimate moments that reflect a family’s unique bond in those early newborn days. Keeping it relaxed and authentic, with a focus on the love and connection between them. The session took place in the comfort of their home in Chelmsford, which allowed me to photograph them in an authentic setting where they felt most at ease. It’s these candid, real moments that make newborn lifestyle photography so special.
One of the things I truly love about newborn lifestyle photography is focusing on the small details that make these early days so memorable—Nico’s tiny lashes, his perfect little pout, and those adorable newborn toes. These precious details are the things you’ll forget as your newborn grows so rapidly in the early stages, but they’re exactly the things you’ll want to remember in future.
Being able to capture these magical newborn moments for Alicia and Liam was such an honour. I’m grateful they chose me to document this new chapter in their lives, and I can’t wait to see little Nico grow and their family blossom.
